Re: SAP NW 7.4 SR1 PO Installation
Re: How to get the details of Transports which are yet to be imported
Hi
I do not think there are any report to check this but this can easily be done by creating a query on table CCCFLOW that trace client copy (and SCC1 import is a client copy of a CTS order) and table E070.
All the '<SID>*' orders in E070 that does not have a corresponding entry in CCCFLOW for the target client 400 needs to be imported.

Re: SHUTDWN_BY NO_MORE_CHILD_PROCESSES
Tushar,
When you start SAP there should be startsap logs created in the home directory. What does it say?
Could you list all the profiles under /sapmnt/AC1/profile ?
The INSTSTAT log shows that the system is reading the instance profile /usr/sap/AC1/SYS/profile/AC1_DVEBMGS00_as988
I have seen this behaviour only for the systems based on the newer releases of Netweaver as there is no start profile.
Based on the Oracle version I believe the SAP system is below Netweaver 7.3 and in that case the startsap script should first read the START profile.
Are you using the same version of kernel on both the systems (PRD and QUA) ? If not copy the kernel from PRD to QUA.
Replicate the kernel from /sapmnt/AC1/exe to /usr/sap/AC1/DVEBMGS00/exe and start SAP.
How did you do the system refresh ?
Did you do a backup and restore of the PRD to QUA using BRTools?
Or was the QUA system created anew with sapinst and with the database backup of PRD?

Re: ST12 Trace tcode isuee
Hi Suresh,
You need to check if the add-on ST-A/PI (Service Tools for Applications Plug-In), is installed, check the SAP note 69455 - Servicetools for Applications ST-A/PI (ST14, RTCCTOOL, ST12)

Re: EHP7 Upgeade error
Have you used the SAP Download Manager to download the packages from download basket after the stack file creation?
Go to http://service.sap.com/swdc - Support Packages and Patches - Search for Support Packages and Patches - and search for "EA-RETAIL 600"

Table deleted, not copied in remote client copy
Hi Basis gurus,
This is my first remote client copy and in test mode I get the following messages regarding "table x is deleted, not copied".
I have googled but only found about errors regarding more severe dictionary errors. I compared table TABADRH in source & target instances and it is identical in both systems.
So I am confused as to the meaning of these messages. Do the tables get overwritten in the target instance? I read a case where a fellowman had his data wiped out.... so do please clarify. (using sap_all profile)
Thanks & best regards,
Claudio

Re: SU25 after after EHP4 to EHP6 upgrade
Hi Silver Surfer
Is it advisable to upgrade the Production now and perform the SU25 in DEV later and promote the roles to Production after proper testing in QA?
Do you mean - is it okay for EHP6 to be applied to Production and fix the security later? If so....
Your risk is if new authorisations checks have been introduced to existing transactions that are in design then users may start to receive authorisations errors. If you are willing to risk a flood of annoyed users complaining of lack of access it is technically possible.
Though, if you are moving from EHP4 to EHP6 was security testing along with functionality testing? If so, you may have covered a large portion of the risk.
As far as SU25 goes, it is to assist with fixing up SU24 values based on SAP proposals. Once you need to make changes to SU24 you need to adjust the roles (As per you Step 2c). I've been at places where they made the decision to execute Steps 2a and 2b and then go into PFCG for each impacted role and deactivate the new proposals (i.e. SU24 updated but PFCG remains unchanged from authorisation perspective). This approach enabled them to "technically" complete the security steps and move a transport through to test environment. However, they were relying on security testing of the roles to identify authorisations issues. If issue was identified, they would then fix the role.
Whatever your approach with SU25 is.... security roles need to be tested as part of an upgrade.

Colleen
Re: Installtion problem - EHP7 on WIN 2012
You continue installation with administrator user id and check.
Re: Installtion problem - EHP7 on WIN 2012
Hi SAP,
Please follow SAP Note 1171534 .This note is meant for DB6 but follow Installation Process for it mentioned:
Installation of an MCOD system:
During an MCOD installation, you receive the following error when SAPinst creates the user SAPService<SAPSID>. In the 'sapinst_dev_log', you look for entries like the following:
FSL-01027 Account group="<domain>\DB2ADMNS_<SAPSID>" does not exist.
To avoid this error, you must create group <domain>\DB2ADMNS_<SAPSID> temporarily before you start SAPinst.
After the installation, this group only contains the user SAPService<SAPSID> of your MCOD system. Remove the user from the group and delete this group ONLY if is empty.
Hope this will help you.

where to run BOBJ upgrade manager tool (UMT)
Hi,
This is an upgrade from XI3.x to BI4.0 -- live to live and complete upgrade.
I want to run above tool on the newly installed BOBJ4 destination.
However, per the following link:
http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/How+to+Upgrade+to+BI4.0
it says:
"The upgrade management tool requires that the features that you are going to upgrade
are available on the machine where you are running it. This means that you need the
components installed with the different BI platform servers".
Above phrase in bold-face is very hard to understand.
Could you please share your experience?
Thanks!
Re: where to run BOBJ upgrade manager tool (UMT)
Hi Cristina,
What upgrade scenario are you doing ? Side by Side, In Place ?
Really upgrade tool will be used after installation ( new or inplace scenario the binarios are overwrite).
So I advice you worried about the better strategy fro your scenario.

Eddie

SAP ABAP Distributed Installation.
Dear SAP Gurus,
I am trying to install NW 7.0 in distributed environment. DB Instance + Central Instance on two different hosts. Question: Do the global file system /sapmnt/SID/ needs to be shared with DB host??. My plan is to setup the DB instance first (DB6) and use this DB during NW 7.0 installation.
Appreciate your response and light on this topic...
Thanks,
kxv.
Re: SAP ABAP Distributed Installation.
Hi Kalyan
Yes, You can install the SAP Global files system on DB host
.
1. SAP global Host - On DB hosts
2. DB instance - On DB hosts
3. SAP Primary application instance - SAP Application instance host
BR
SS
Re: SAP ABAP Distributed Installation.
Hi Kalyan,
There is two way of doing this.
IF <you share the global /sapmnt/SID/ on DB host> ,
THEN it will stop you from doing manual activity.
ELSE IF <it is a dual stack or java stack in case of not sharing>
Then you need to move the global directory to /sapmnt/SID of other host where you installed the CI
because in this case , sltool libraries , secure.properties file are created in DB instance installation.
Moreover , it make three entries in Default profile related to DB.
IF <ABAP stack>
You only need to move the Default profile or mnaully entered the same parameter in Default profile which craeted while installing ASCS or SCS.

Re: SAP ABAP Distributed Installation.
Thanks for the info Ash..my scenario will be global host and central ABAP instance on single host, DB instance on separate host. for this setup do I need to share /sapmnt/sid to my DB host, i am thinking not to share to Db host and use the connect user created explicitly on my DB during the central instance installation, can it be doable, I don't see any reason to share the /sapmnt to db host...
Appreciate your response..
kxv.
Re: SAP ABAP Distributed Installation.
Hi
Where you are install the SAP global host on that host it will create the Share SAPMNT, as you meaning in your setup its will create the share on Central ABAP instance host not on DB host.
