Hello All,
I have requirement to build sand box system from dev system with different SID using system copy. I would like to go with homogenous system copy.
My source sys. is R/3 4.7 Extension set2 SR1 running on AIX 6.1 with DB2 9.7.0.5.
Which method (R3load or backup/restore) is recommended in homogenous system copy?
Can we build target system with different SID by using backup/restore method?
Thanks,
Vinay
Hi Vinay.
If you want to save time and make a Fast System copy with minimized/Zero Downtime in source system is better make an Backup/restore System copy.
If you can stop your source system is better make an R3load because in this method, your database will be reduce the size and you can start a new system cleanly.
Both method are valid and both method will guararantee a consistency system after finish.
And with both Methods you can change the SID without problem.

BR0071E BRBACKUP currently running or was killed
Maybe your database is in backup mode
sqlplus / assysdba
SELECT * FROM V$BACKUP;
if u can see records with status = ACTIVE then:
ALTER DATABASE END BACKUP;
also delete the .lock file in /oracle/SID/sapbackup if the file exist, (Remember, list that with ls -lrta because is a hidden file)
hope this help

Hi Vinay
In SAP System copy R3load used either Backup /restore or Attach / deattach method.
Which method (R3load or backup/restore) is recommended in homogenous system copy?
In your case you have to use the source system export using either SWPM or old SAPINST method.
Can we build target system with different SID by using backup/restore method?
Yes, You can change the SID in target at the time of system import, before that read the system copy guide.

Hi Mohit
1. During the month or year end time over all system usage will be very high; all the end users are running so many reports. During that time transaction users are getting affected. For this you have to check in transaction code ST03 / ST03N to find the top 20 transactions just do the analysis and fine tune the transaction with help of ABAPer or functional consultant
2. You can check those top 20 transaction in QAS system by enable the ST12 trace check over all the ABAP & DB usage.
3. During this time don’t change any settings or parameters until with solid evidence

Hi Kaan,
Try to implement Kerberos based authentication.

Ridouan
Thanks for suggestion,
I suppose this was correct, because I tried to install kernel-update 721-411 for TP, R3trans and d+w which did not run (-> cannot connect to tp-system...). So I went back to original kernel 721-400 and retried installing spam-queue which did not show error any longer.
Thanks a lot to all
best regards
Hi Sriram,
I have changed to dboraslib.so - version 721 and now R3trans -d returns 000. I tried to start instance 00 and it shows started. but I can't connect it from GUI. Also SUM ended up in same error again.
I think we missed some parameters at initial stage. Looking for valuable suggestions.
Hi
After change the file have you restart the system? once do the full restart and then try, before that check the right ownership & permissions

Dear All,
As per SAP Note : 944221, we tested all the report for the ADS, we are facing the issue in the below report.
FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE --> With Destination service getting below error.
Error: SYSTEM ERROR: ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing data from Destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_VHD//sap/bc/fp/form/layout/FP_FORM_SECURITY_TEST.XDP?fp-language=DE(200.101).
Can you please suggest?

Thanks,

Hi Khandokar,
You can import multiple TR by using the SOLMAN.
Hi Cinu,
Version mismatch seems to me like your kernel version and R3trans version in kernel directory are different.
Please replace your R3trans exe same like kernel version and I believe the issue should be fixed.
else paste the below logs:
/usr/sap/DEV/SUM/abap/log/DDXTTSPC.LOG
and
/usr/sap/DEV/SUM/abap/log/EXSTATE01.LOG
Regards,
Nikhil
Hi,
Now both instances 00 & 02 are up. But still SUM ended up with same error.
Log DDXTTSPC.LOG attached.
