Re: Local list are not transport
Re: Planning disaster recovery with native RMAN
Hi,
Hope you are doing good.
Nice to hear from you again. We usually get issues where RMAn traces have to be analysed. You can set it on the native client:
rman nocatalog debugtrace=rman.trc target /
or using command file:
rman nocatalog debug trace=rman.trc log=rman.log < rman.cmd
Several docs are available online regarding this; if you wish to get a specific issue checked, please let us know.
Hope this helps.

Re: Local list are not transport
When you press the "Alert Moderator" link there is an option called "Failed to search" and this thread belongs to that category. A quick Google search will provide you links like Local and Transportable Change Requests - Changing the SAP Standard (BC) - SAP Library
In addition to that there are threads for "Local Change Requests" on SCN. In fact you should do some search before asking for help. Now back to the issue, my initial reply was just to make him aware that it is just a warning and not an error. Based on the screenshot it looks like the request was created on a production system (SID = PCP).

Re: Oracle 11g r2 Problems to install....
Hello Eddie,
What is the username you are using to install the software, does it have any special characters ?
There could be a registry entry blocking the username from having administrative privileges, although the link below is for Vista, it may give you pointers.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951016
Check the above link, try and implement it temporarily and let us know.

Re: Oracle 11g r2 Problems to install....
Hello Siddhesh,
Thank you for your suggestion.
I agree with you, maybe we are facing some problem with a registry entry blocking, it make sense for me.
Well, I'm sending it for my OS team to apply or check block in this path, at soon I asnwer for you if it solves this problem.
PS.: My user is Edinaldo, so it doesn't have any special character.
Thank you in advance!

Getting Datasizes / Usage of Different Organizational Data
HI,
We are having an Oracle (10g) Database size of around 500 GB
There are 3 different organizations access this database to store its data. (Organizational codes defining as Org1 - 5000 , Org2 - 6000 , Org3 - 7000)
All 3 companies are working under the same client - (Ex: Client 777)
In this case, Is it possible to get a rough value on the data available on the DB for each company?
(Org1 have stored 150 GB of data.... Org2 has stored 75 GB of data....likewise)
Each of companies are having different number of user licenses as well. (Org1 having 50 users, Org2 having 150 users, Org3 having 200 users)
Is it possible to get a sample value(by means of any measurement) , of the usage of the system by the 3 companies?
What is the best method , to get an idea regarding the workload of the 3 different companies? (either by using database or by using the system)
Regards,
Zerandib

Installation error - FSL 02003 Unable to set owner for 0
Hi,
I am trying to install SCS for a HA EP system on AIX server with root user.
The installation has stuck on step "Unpack SAP Archives" with the following error.
TRACE 2015-02-19 17:26:31.623
Node (/sapmnt/<SID>/exe/uc/rs6000_64/icmbnd).getown() done:206

CJSlibModule::writeError_impl()
FSL-02003 Unable to set owner /sapmnt/<SID>/exe/uc/rs6000_64/icmbnd for 0
User ID 0 belongs to user root and the existing permission on icmbnd file is:
-rwxrwxr-x 1 <sid>adm:sapsys icmbnd
I tried assigning 777 permission to the file, but that did not help. Also tried changing owner of the file to root, but ended up with the following:
chown icmbnd: Operation not permitted
I had set umask as 022 before starting the installation.
Would appreciate hints on resolving this?
Regards,
AJ
Re: Installation error - FSL 02003 Unable to set owner for 0
Hi
The issue should most probably in your /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/exe folder
run saproot.sh to set the correct permissions for icmbnd in all the directories ( dont manually set permissions like chmod 777 etc as some files will have sticky bits and some files should have read only permissions )
The best you can do now is run saproot.sh ( as root )
then check the following directories /sapmnt/SID/exe , all /usr/sap/<SID>/<Instance>/exe
and set the owner as <sid>adm:sapsys .
Once all the installation is complete run once again saproot.sh
Thanks,
Manu
Re: Problem with tp system
as long as the software is certified by SAP you can install using SAINT or via transprot (depends on how the 3rd party provide the installation).
Not possible to update note via SNOTE
Hi,
I've been told by our BASIS people that it is not possible to update a note (from a version to another) via SNOTE because it was implemented via SP.
I'm finding it a bit strange but can't find info on this subject hence the topic.
Is this really how it goes? If a note has been implemented through a SP I can't update it later via SNOTE?
Thank you,
Carlos
Re: Not possible to update note via SNOTE
Hi ,
Each implementable SAP note ( that will have a correction instruction ) will be a part of a SP .
If your system is equal to or above that support pack the SAP Note is not applicable to you and cannot be implemented
If the version of the note changes and ( the new version is not applied yet applied in the system ) , it will be marked as an obselete version . In such cases using TXN SNOTE you can implement the note once again .This can be easily checked via txn SNOTE, download the latest note and click execute .
Thanks ,
Manu
Re: Not possible to update note via SNOTE
Hi Carlos,
BASIS people that it is not possible to update a note (from a version to another) via SNOTE because it was implemented via SP.
Here i would like to clear you on terms SAP Note as well as on Support Package.
Note is a code correction to fix specific program or bug & we could apply into the system until relevant SAP SP not applied on the system ( As SP is a collection of fixes for specific component e.g EA_APPL,SAP_ABA..& so on) .
As Note consists of complete information regarding SP level & applicable releases as well,it would be nice to check for the info at the end of Note & compare it with applied SP on system.
Hope this will help you.
Good luck !!

Re: Installation error - FSL 02003 Unable to set owner for 0
Hi,
Need to give a complete restart to the system as well & retry the phase again.
Good luck !!
