Current status of SAP and DB parameter value

Total RAm is 76GB and SWAP Space is 41GB

 

 

SAP Work process

sap Parameter value

EM/TOTAL_SIZE_MB = 31000

abap/heap_area_total  =  8000000000

abap/heap_area_dia     = 4000000000

abap/heap_area_nondia   = 4000000000

 

Oracle Parameter value

sga_max_size= 22G

pga_aggregate_target = 2G

db_cache_size      = 18496M
shared_pool_size    = 1600M

 

 

Moreover In ST02, All the extended memory  31GB is used

 

 

 

shared_pool_size

 

 

db_cache_size

 

 

PGA

 

 

Please let us know the value to be increased or decreased in the above SAP and DB parameters.

Hi Subbu,

 

Also bear in mind that AIX will use any free memory for its own buffering purposes.  For example, file system information will be put into memory if some is available.  The real question needs to be:  is there a performance issue?  If not, don't overly worry about 'free' memory.

Hi,

 

Thanks for the reply.

 

I have checked with OS level and confirmed that no zombie or defunct process is running.

Currently Users are complaining about the performance of the system. Please let me know is there any memory leak in the system and any parameter need to be fine tuned.

 

If the provided parameter value is ok for the system. I will ask the developer to look into program/table to do any fine tunning in that.

Could you supply the /Instdump/EPSPS15/SUM/sdt/tmp/SAPCONTROL_GETINSTANCEPROPERTIES_32_05.OUT log file?

If the file is not present in the /Instdump/EPSPS15/SUM/sdt/tmp directory then look for the file in the /Instdump/EPSPS15/SUM/sdt/log directory.

Set the same password of the <SID>adm user on all nodes and see if that helps.

Have you started the SUM tool in the node where the PAS is running?

We had same issue and its resolved after providing the role which is having below authorization.

Not in with the SAP system.  You can use availability monitor in Solman though.

You can do it from OS level.

You can write a script in perl that refreshes the output in few seconds.

Or use CCMS monitors for the same.

Infact, take the SM51 program and put it in a look which call it again and again after every 5 seconds, all that in a report which is assigned to a Z-tcode.

sounds good...if I would make a BI in frontend-mode, maybe it is also possible.

I will try some things....

 

I already monitor the processes, but you know it would be for detailed analysis (like a top)

I believe it is possible to view the systems and the WP's utilization as well.

Hope you are doing good.
Are you referring to /nSM51 or /nSM50 (or SM66 sort of)?

At the kernel level, DPMON is a good tool with refresh options.
